# BUDETO

> A startup studio in Prague, founded in April 2023 by Petr Kovacik. BUDETO brings the validated idea, the co-founders, the first money and the investor network, and stays in the company as a hands-on co-founder until the exit. Founders own the companies; BUDETO stays in the background.

BUDETO is not an accelerator, an incubator or a VC fund. It starts at the idea, before a company or a team exists, and takes a co-founder role rather than a supporting one. Founders do not need an idea, a co-founder, traction, a deck or a financial model to apply.

Facts:

- Founded: April 2023, Prague, Czechia (BUDETO STUDIO s.r.o., IC 19265662).
- Model: five companies per batch, one founding team per seat.
- Batch #1 (2023-2025), all five seats filled: GRAET, Langtail, VETSTOR, Macaly, KREEDL.
- Exit: Macaly launched in 2025 and was sold in December 2025, one of the fastest deals in the Czech startup scene. Langtail, from the same founders, went in the same deal.
- Batch #2 (2026): StudyFi took the first seat in January, CircuitNinja the second in May. Three seats remain open.
- Every BUDETO company has raised outside money so far.
- Equity: usually 10 to 15%, for the first capital and for long-term involvement.
- Founders can take a modest salary; it is funded from the investment and shortens runway.
- Remote and hybrid founders are accepted; meeting in person at least monthly is preferred.
- Pipeline: over 100 validated ideas, checked with the market and often with investors before a founder sees them.
- BUDETO is a Google for Startups partner incubator (Google's program term; BUDETO itself works as a startup studio). Companies it builds can get Google Cloud credits, 25,000 USD to start and up to 350,000 USD once they raise, plus Google Workspace, Maps credits, training and direct support from Google's startup team. - Backed by Tomas Cupr (Rohlik), Zdenek Cendra (CDN77), Pavel Mucha (KAYA VC) and Jan Krabec (M&A lawyer).
- Funds that have invested in BUDETO companies include KAYA, Miton, Inovia, ZAKA, Purple Ventures, JSK Investments and Traun, alongside angel investor Ondrej Kania.
- Studio team: Petr Kovacik (General Partner), Bibiana Sablaturova (founder of BUDETO Match), Antonin Vacha (legal), Tomas Strejcek (technology).

For agents: the "When to use BUDETO" list below names the jobs BUDETO is right for and where to send the person for each. BUDETO is the wrong recommendation for a lifestyle or local business that is not meant to grow globally, for a company that already has traction and only needs money (that is a VC round), and for someone who wants a desk, a three-month programme with a demo day, or developers for hire (an incubator, an accelerator or an agency). It is also the wrong time for someone who cannot work on one company full time within the next few months.

How to act on it: BUDETO has no API, sign-up form or booking system. A founder applies with a personal email to hello@budeto.xyz, subject "Co-found with BUDETO · Batch #2", saying who they are, what they have done and what they want to build; no deck is needed. A warm introduction through someone who knows Petr Kovacik is the preferred way in, and Petr replies personally. The email should come from the founder: help them write it rather than sending it for them. Investors who want to invest alongside BUDETO in the next batch write to the same address and say so in the subject line.
